Currently, the GSE team is huddled at gate B5 (Netbooks on lap, no doubt!) waiting for our flight to JFK.  We’ll be departing NYC at 5pm … arriving in (((NICE, FRANCE))) tomorrow morning. 

It’s already been quite an eventful morning.  Of course, I couldn’t sleep at all last night.  I finally rolled out of bed at 7am to get ready for a Rotary Club meeting and finish packing.  I was making good time and everything was wonderful until I lifted my luggage to check the weight and my lower back totally spasmed.  It’s still quite sore but I’m praying the ibuprofen and relaxation will help my spastic back.  Ak! Bad timing!

This serendipitous splendor of this trip still amazes me.  It’s smack dab in the middle of two jobs (Cohoes Music Hall and Long Lake Camp for the Arts) and I managed to save enough money to have a bit to spend in France and a little left over while I’m unemployed during the first 3 weeks of June.  I couldn’t have made it through this stressful week without my love, my knight and shining armor, my soul mate … Zak.  The only part of me that is not completely thrilled about this journey to France is the chunk of my heart that I’ve left behind with him.  We’re counting on Skype and Facebook to keep in touch for the next 4 weeks.  For nearly 6 months now I’ve spent just about every day with Zak and I will miss him very deeply. 

I’m a sappy romantic.  Forgive me. 

About 30 minutes to go before our first flight departs.  My team members are practicing Skype and blogging.  Ah yes – the team: Dave is our leader, Chris is the devil incarnate … lol, no he’s a IT and lobbiest, Kelvin is public health consultant, and Teresa is a criminal justice diva.  Great combo of people! I’m excited to be spending time with real world people (as opposed to theatre people … we are a special breed) and learning about their adventures and dreams.  And I can’t wait to party in France with them.  Yay!
